Unlike some “volume booster” apps that proxy streams through external servers to normalize loudness, Sound Control does all processing locally with the built-in Web Audio API. There are no network permissions, no trackers, and no telemetry. Even offline files opened in the browser get the same treatment, making the extension safe in bandwidth-constrained or privacy-sensitive environments.

Sound Control adds virtually no startup overhead. UI minimalism—one vertical slider, a numeric badge, and a reset shortcut (double-click or “R”)—means most users master it in seconds. There’s nothing to configure, no accounts, and no hidden menus.
